The Cognitive Psych test today was irritating. I think I will be able to pass it. But I was hoping to acheive a B. I have been pretty slack and troubled the whole of last year. But this year, I want to study as hard and as much as I can. I need to keep up with readings, the textbook and push up the CAP for this semester. Inshallah, I will be motivated.

Honey-buns has decided to put a stop to the A-level track in her life and pursue Med Tech at SP instead. Well, better she get a diploma then not do well in her A's and not have anywhere to go.

Med Tech tingles a feeling of nostalgia in me. During Sec 4 & after getting 'O' level results, I was contemplating Optometry, Med Tech OR JC. Turned out to be JC, huh. I still think about what I would be doing now if I had chosen Med Tech instead. But Psychology is not so bad huh? (:

Women's Health test on Sat. Hope all goes well.

My trip to Kusu Island today was uneventful. The only spot worthy of mention is the beach. The water was really clear blue and refreshing. However, the scorching sun did not permit us to spend time near the water.

Really, the place is boring even to a super-slacker like me. The only "attractions" in the island are the Chinese temple and Keramat of 3 Muslims. Besides that, there is a turtle santuary. Kusu Island, means Turtle Island, by the way. So it makes sense to have a turtle sanctuary. We were so happy when we saw the board "Food Centre". But guess what? There was nothing, there were separate stalls but no food..no people... that was damn lame. But what could anyone do? We cant expect them to set up stalls. No one visits the bloody island! (Feast your eyes on the pictures, they are as good as it gets!)

We spent only 45 minutes in the island because if we missed the 11.45am ferry, the next one would be at 2.45pm only. And that is way too long to wait in such an island! So we left pronto. The ferry ride was bad. I was feeling nauseous almost throughout the whole journey. But alls well.

We sought refuge in Harbour Front centre and had lunch at Food Junction. The food's not bad, actually. But who am I to comment? I only ate from the Nasi Padang stall. Well, I am always reduced to eating from those stalls.

When I set sail to New Zealand, I am going to open an Indian restaurant there... close to my farmhouse!

We will be visiting IMH on the 19th. I know!! You can stop laughing now. But, I am actually looking forward to it. A group of medical professionals will be giving a talk to us, the aspiring psychologists!

Besides being located at an ulu area such as Hougang, I guess it's all good. I mean, it makes sense to have IMH at Hougang! Hah.

Trip to Kusu is on Thursday, inshallah. Talking about Kusu, I discovered a new relative yesterday. Razinah! We met during geography tutorial and it turns out that we formed a group to work on our project together. She wanted to call ourselves "racists", because it felt really weird forming an all-indian grp. How come it's not weird when every other group is all-chinese but when it is all-malay or all-indian people look at you like you just shit in the middle of the classroom OR think that you are 'so anti'?? Well, anyway, in the end it was too politically incorrect to call ourselves that and we decided against it. So we are called 'Yaathra' and that means Journey with religious undertones to it. That's because our Imaginary friend, Sean Biggs, is an American student who is doing a short film on the religious practices & cultures in Singapore. Though black paper flies around everywhere during certain times, we have to attempt to show Sean our religious co-existence and tolerance.

Plus, each of us wants Sean Biggs to stay with us! haha.

Midterm break has begun. Have lotsa assignments to do and tests to study for. Hope I get work done. There is tuition later....man that never stops! I feel like watching a movie.....!!

We would be going to Kusu Island one of these days cos we have decided to redevelop Kusu Island as a part of our geography assignment. Of course not for real. Just living in a world of make-believe. I've only been to Kusu Island once when I was in primary school. Quite fun to be going there again, with friends this time! :) Hope it turns out fruitful.

Dinesh told me yesterday that I should get a boyfriend who is too good to be true. haha I was thinking about it too & yes I agree Dinesh! :) But which part of Singapore do these nice guys live in?? hmm...

The baby living next door is crying. He is 11 months old and sort of the favourite baby for the people living here. Well, more like he is the only baby living on the 7th storey. Nevertheless, he is our favourite. Tho a manja baby, he has managed to capture our hearts with his cute actions and smiles. (: Well, everyone is growing older and wants to keep in touch with the baby side of them.

I bought a top yesterday. It has a malay flavour to it, some kebaya-ness to it. I like it. Think it's quite unique. I am still thinking whether I should sew a skirt-bottom and wear it as a kebaya or wear pants with it. Or maybe both? See how. Actually, it was a few days back that I bought it but had to send it for alteration. Honey-buns saw it yesterday and said was ok but I don't know what she is really thinking. Sometimes I can't read her mind. That moron.

Was hearing the "kichu kichu manusha" song just now... I think it's really nice, the music & all...something different. I guess Harrish Jayaraj has his own thing going. Not like Deva.

Hmm, work is really piling up but I am still ia state of inertia. Maybe not so bad, but still have not got around to much studying. Hope I start soon.

Gotta continue with my work now....grr.

I went to the toilet in school today, as I always do. But what was unexpected was that I left my handphone on the highwall so that it would not fall into the disgusting toilet bowl. Instead of just leaving the excretion behind, I left my handphone behind as well. How absent-minded! Thank God, I was still near the washbasin when a nice girl asked whether the phone was mine. Phew! Don't know what I'd do without it. I'm speaking as if I was born with a handphone in my pocket. But once you get so accustomed to smsing and calling and fiddling with the hp, you will feel handicapped without it.I hate losing things.

Sad thing is that Adam lost his handphone today. So coincidential. If it's not one person, it's someone else I guess. I think it's time to buy a new phone Adam! But the feeling of losing it sucks, I know.

This week has been pretty hectic, with the tourism assignment due and all. Grr.

Honey-buns and me had a photo session today. Theme was horror.
And it turned out like that.

Today is my free day. From school that is.

Went for tuition & scolded Kanchana a bit cos I was in a bad mood and she was being super blur. At the end of the lesson, she dangled a paper bag in front of me and wished me "Happy Teachers' Day". I had no words. Because I was feeling dumb. I thanked her anyway and left. In the bus, I was looking at the stuff in the bag and there was a note together with the gift. Just normal stuff saying 'thank you' etc. But it was a little touching, especially since it is Kanchana. I felt very happy and actually I wasn't in a bad mood anymore. Haha. I love the note, just the note without a gift would have been perfect. Maybe that is how my teachers felt. They always told us not to spend money on gifts. I feel the same now.

Ryte! As if I am some big teacher. I will talk when I am being called 'Ms Sultana'.

Friday, September 02, 2005

I had to go for tuition today. No teachers' day for me. Ryte. hah

I'm listening to the song "Ithuthanaa" from Samy. Nice song. Maybe not everyone will like it. It's a 'girl's' song. But very sweet....especially the first 4 lines. In my wedding (if there is one) I am going to make sure this song is played. (: Hmm...

And this Saturday there will be "Mouna Raagam" on TV. The movie & the songs in it are simply great! Maybe Illayaraja is still the best. Even after all these years, if I have to think about the songs which touch me most or in my mind often are Illayaraja songs. Okay, of course some of the new songs are pretty good too.

I am talking to Fiza now. And she just mentioned that Adam is cute. More than mentioned, actually. haha. I hope you are reading this, Adam.

Too much for a panni but it's okay I guess. (:
